Tony James has been taking photographs since the age of 10, starting with film but latterly principally switching to digital. For many years, he photographed landforms for his teaching but he has developed the aesthetic side of the art, recently concentrating on portraits both in the studio and on location.
He has obtained a distinction from the Royal Photographic Society as well as a diploma and advanced diploma in photography (both with distinction).
Tony has been recognised for his work by winning an annual competition of the Photography Monthly magazine and was a finalist in the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust competition. His work has been published by the Isles of Scilly Tourist Board, the National Trust, Canon EOS and Photo Plus Magazines, as well as featuring in the Herts in Focus and Letchworth Settlement calendars.
